Daisy Doesn't Show Up in Web Programmer
When you click the “FLASH” button in the Getting Started section of the Daisy Web Programmer, a pop-up window should appear with the message "DFU In FS Mode", like this.
If you do not see this, your Daisy is not being recognized by the computer.
Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot:
Try different USB cable¶
This is the most common problem.
Check that the USB cable is capable of transferring data, not just power.
Examine the PWR LED¶
When Daisy is connected to a computer via USB, the onboard LED with the "PWR" label next to it should light up.
Inspect USB connection¶
Ensure that your Daisy is connected to the computer via a USB cable.
If you're using a USB hub, try connecting your Daisy directly to the computer.
Also, try different USB ports on your computer.
Check browser¶
Make sure you're using Google Chrome as your web browser.
While users have reported intermittent success with Firefox and Safari, Google Chrome is the only officially supported browser for flashing firmware to Daisy.
Reset USB driver with Zadig (Windows users only)¶
For Windows users, you may need to use Zadig to reset your USB driver. You can follow our Zadig page here.
Put Daisy into bootloader mode¶
Your Daisy will not be recognized by your computer as a DFU device unless it is in bootloader mode. Put your Daisy into bootloader mode by holding the BOOT button down, holding down the RESET button, releasing the RESET button, and then releasing the BOOT button.
