An Update On Pricing

Hey Buds,

First, I just want to say thank you. Whether you're building your first sound device, designing a product around our hardware, or have been a member of our community since the beginning, your support is what lets us do the work that we love.

We want to be open with you about something that affects us all: the cost of RAM memory has risen sharply, and it’s now touching nearly everything we make. If you haven't heard already, the cost of RAM memory is exploding due to serious supply constraints driven by AI data center development. This has been dubbed the “RAMpocalypse” by the media, and it’s even starting to affect other parts in our supply chain which aren’t RAM.

Over the past 6 months, we've received a rapid number of price increases from our DRAM suppliers. At the time, we made the choice to absorb those increases rather than pass them along so that the Daisy platform could remain stable, and accessible for all users.

Unfortunately, we've reached the point where continuing to do that is no longer sustainable. In light of that we have to raise prices on certain Daisy form factors: beginning November 1, 2026, we'll be adjusting prices on the Seed2 DFM, the Seed3, and the Pod. Current prices will remain the same for these products for the rest of the month.

With that being said, we are bringing back the 1MB variants to help soften the increase. If you don’t actually need the full 65MB of memory, you’ll be able to take advantage of a lower price by purchasing the 1MB version.

We're hopeful that memory pricing will ease in the future, and if it does, we'll revisit these changes. In the meantime, we'll continue to stay flexible and adapt in whatever ways best serve you, our community.

We can end this note on some good news though - we have locked in a huge amount of memory chips covering all of our 2027 demand and are not anticipating any major gaps in Daisy supply. Even if our prices have to go up, at least we’ll all be able to keep planting Daisies.
